The SBDLJ

Since arriving here (anonymous midwestern city), we've been using the Silent But Deadly Loopy Johnny. Lash has used it two days in a row now and it lives up to it's reputation. We have new upstairs neighbors and we're not sure just how "deaf" they are. (This is a 55+ condo building.) The LJ is so quiet that I can barely hear it. Of course, I need to muffle my mouth in a pillow to keep from having every neighbor on the block call 911! It does sting like crazy, but it hasn't left any long-lasting marks so far.

D#2 is moved into her new apartment. It's dry and has a better view than her old place (trees and houses instead of a carwash). It's a little smaller so she downsized to a new loveseat instead of a hand-me-down sofa and took some stuff to Goodwill. All-in-all it's been a good move for her now that the panic has subsided.

We had a birthday party for my MIL yesterday - her 89th is just after Labor Day weekend. Today I take my mom to church and maybe visit some of my brothers or an elderly aunt. Tomorrow I take her to the doctor and shopping. Lash will be doing the same with his mom with minor variations. 3 more days until we head back home!!

PS: The dreaded outdoor switching didn't take place due to the previously mentioned torrential rains and panicked daughter! Maybe at some later date I'll report on an outdoor experience!!

Hmmm, well glad everyone is moved. I am not sure about that SBDLJ though! I had actually considered one for us at the Ranch, and then decided that was mere peri-menopausal confused thinking and phew...I came to my senses!

Outdoors??? My you've become the adventurer! I I think I will enjoy all this vicariously!

Wow, your blog has gone pink!!!!I swear it was blue before...
Should I be relieved for you or disappointed that you missed your switching? Only the switch freaking hurts, cannot believe you would be looking forward to it!!!! Hugs, xxxxxxxxxx
Grrr, why is everyone getting these drop down commenter boxes, I don't know my url.....

Bungee cords are very quiet and stingy too. They're useful when you don't want to cause a ruckus.

I've looked at those things before and decided against it completely!!! Of course we are able to get a reasonable amount of time alone. I know that they HURT!! I admire you for being able to take it!

Glad your daughter is settled and happy and happy birthday to your MIL!

Hugs,
PK

I think I would like to try one of these, different to what we already have. Will have to check out Cane-iac.

Maybe Lash could try an outdoor spanking on the way back home :)

Love.

Sounds like you have your heads on straight. Too many would WANT to have their screams heard and then try to explain that they are in fun - kind of like when my neighbor was screaming during a wild sex event. The entire block heard them as their windows were open. One woman yelled that she would call the cops! Oh, well.

My doses of spankings are always bare hand to bare hiney, with the paddle every so often. I've 45 and all is fine.

Have fun!

You're so brave! I don't think I'd want to go anywhere near an LJ. I'll stick with nice, wide, noisy leather.

What is the loop made of?

Hugs,
Hermione

I looked at the LJ a few times, but all my gal pals yelled danger.:)
I am always seeking quieter implements. Is it really that bad?

meow and Lash, I am enjoying your sharing here. We too are middle aged adults living in the Midwest (Cincinnati.) I too work in the hohprofit world. We too always seem to be invovled with loving and supporting elder family members. We too live in a downstairs condo (actually, in our case, two side-by-side condo's in that there are three of us.) Should it help we have played here intensely for going on eight years, including some spankings and floggins that have entailed swan's panicked shrieking in ways that have caused me to wonder if maybe I should call 911:) We have never been molested by a neighbor yet. It is true these condo's are well constructed and fairly sound proof, but we engage in spanking at least weekly (often several times weekly) with lots of loud smacking sounds, or with implements like the LJ or switches or single tail whips, that while they make little impact noise, elicit huge vocalization from the spankee. Perhaps you will be able to take more risks over time find your privacy will be in tact or at least respected.

I love to administer bare bottom switchings. They are my alll time favorite form of spanking. I have a pretty standard scenario that works very well for providing spankees the proverbial "spanking of your life" via a switching. If you are interested (perhaps more Lash than meow) it is described as part of a post on our Blog. Go to TheHeronClan.blogspot.com. At the bottom of the right hand column you will find a link to the archive of our predecessor Blog The Swans Heart. If you look there at the post from May 22, 2005 called "The Heretic's Opus" you will find (after the early portion of that post that describes my evolution into adult consensual spanking) a description of that switching technique. Perhaps you will find reading it cross fertilizing or enhancing.

At any rate, all the best, thanks for sharing here, and may we learn that you have undergone a thorough bare bottom switching soon.

All the best,

Tom

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined.

Sara, I don't know if I'm getting braver in my "old age" or more stupid! The situation will have to be just right for an outdoor spanking of any kind to take place.

Daisy, My blog is still the same, but it does show up pink on my phone, too. Today it's OK for some reason. Also, someone told me that if you sign in to Blogger before you start reading and commenting, then you don't have to fill out all that stuff. Blogger remembers you.

Spanky, I've heard rumors about bungee cords. Maybe someday!

PK, We've had the LJ for months and this is the first time we've used it, so I'm hoping it will be saved for traveling and times we have to be very quiet!

Ronnie, We got the tawse at Cane-iac, but got the LJ from Adam and Gillian, I think.

Dave, We prefer bare hand to bare bottom, too! Unfortunately, hand surgery and traveling have made this difficult lately. I'm wishing for a return to the old days!

Hermione, The loops are made of a rubbery plastic - very stingy!!

Katia, Lash is usually gentle when starting out, but it can build up to quite a sting. I know he didn't use it very hard, but I certainly respect it!

Tom, Fortunately our home has plenty of privacy which we lack when we stay in my mom's condo. It's better than a hotel room so we keep the condo even though mom has moved to assisted living. I'll go to Swan's Heart to read the post about switching. I'm really glad t's mom is doing better in rehab!

Sorry this is so late, but I really couldn't resist commenting once I had read it!

The Loopy Johnny sounds wonderful, perhaps just what we need if it is as quiet as you mentioned? Plus it is an implement we have never had experience with before, nor do we own anything like it!
Great review, and if you haven't already posted where you got it from please do let me know...

hugs

Mrs M, We ordered the LJ from Adam and Gillian. It's listed under Cats. I'm not sure if "wonderful" is the word I'd use! (grin) Meow
